Gloucester History Festival 2019

Festival Highlights

This year between the 7th and 22nd of September, the City of Gloucester will be holding its annual festival of history and heritage. This historical extravaganza will include:

  • Gloucester Day Parades
  • City Voices
  • Heritage Open Days
  • Blackfriars Talks
  • Exhibitions

The Blackfriars Talks include appearances from  Alice Roberts, Lucy Worsley, Janina Ramirez,  and Paul McGann amongst many others.

Don’t miss Never Better; exquisite contemporary theatre from Strike a Light – the culmination of 2 years of research in Gloucestershire Archives around mental health. Tickets free.

And why not drop in to our new History Festival ‘pop up’ in Eastgate Hangout Hub; a former shop next to the Eastgate Market entrance. Come and find out more about Gloucester rich and diverse history and heritage and join in with our ‘Everyone’s History’ photo and story competition.
