Spring Weekend 2021

SATURDAY 17th – Sunday 18th april

Blackfriars Talks

Historians and authors share their love of history

Each year the Blackfriars Talks programme takes place as part of Gloucester History Festival, and we’re pleased that in 2021 this includes the new Spring Weekend Festival ahead of the much loved autumn Gloucester History Festival.

The Blackfriars Talks bring the country’s top historians, authors, comedians, actors and politicians together to share their love of history. These talks traditionally take place under the ancient beams of Gloucester’s Blackfriars Priory. Whilst restrictions remain in place Gloucester History Festival is pleased to offer these talks virtually, for all to enjoy safely at home.

The Spring Weekend festival takes place on 17th – 18th April 2021, and also include City Voices events and a Heritage Open Days short film.

Experience a special programme this April, as part of Gloucester History Festival’s first Spring Weekend Festival.
