Scriptorium Buttery

Open from 9 am – 9 pm every day during the Festival, the newly restored Scriptorium Buttery venue, onsite at Blackfriars, allows Festival Visitors to enjoy refreshments and experience an array of free events, exhibitions and entertainment.

Blackfriars Priory is a short walk from Gloucester bus and rail stations and there are nearby car parks.
Festival Bookseller
Book signings organised by Waterstones take place after each event.
Cafe
Delicious refreshments available all day in the Festival Cafe. Vegan options available.
Ticketing information
Booking opens 25 July 2025. Bookings are available online, by phone and via the in-person Box Office at the Museum of Gloucester until 12 September and at Blackfriars Priory from 13 September.
Online: can be made until 1 hour before the start time of each event but we recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment.

Telephone bookings can be made between 10 am and 4 pm from Monday – Saturday and between 11 am and 3 pm on Sundays until the 12 September. From Saturday 13th to Sunday 21st September telephone bookings can be made from 9:30 am to 8 pm daily.
