Friendship Cafe @ Chequers
All are welcome at the Friendship Café. It provides youth & community-based activities, focusing mainly (but not exclusively) on young people, children and families in the inner-city & surrounding areas of Gloucester.
A brief Backstory
It was originally established by a group of lads who wanted somewhere to work out and lift weights without paying costly gym fees. The café grew to become the accessible, welcoming place it is today. Some of the things you can do there include archery and boxing, alongside sewing and gentle exercise for older people.
The café’s caring community ethos extends to an emergency food parcel service for people in difficulty.
