Gloucester Civic Trust | John Lovell
Talk by popular local historian Tony Condor
Free – details of how to access the meeting will appear on this website closer to the date.
Two hundred years ago the first boats moved between the older Stroudwater Navigation and the half finished Gloucester and Berkeley Ship Canal.
Saul Junction is the only canal crossroads in the country and the politics, engineering and endeavour that bought it about form the background to a piece of Gloucestershire history. Saul Junction is a great place to visit and to understand the history of the site. The talk – organised on behalf of the Gloucester Civic Trust – also commemorates a step forward in the opening of the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal.
Join Via Zoom on Wednesday, September 9th at 7.30pm
