John Jones, nuclear expert and local guide will talk on Wheatstone and how he helped bring about the modern world.

Wheatstone was a brilliant man, but quite shy, preferring Florence Nightingale or Michael Faraday to speak for him. However, his inspiration of others is perhaps more important than his own inventions. The talk will last 45mins to an hour and is fully accessible for wheelchair users.

During the Heritage Open Days Talks, Gloucester Civic Trust tour guides will bring to life some of the characters and events that have shaped Gloucester’s fascinating 2,000 years of history.
