“The indefatigable Iain Dale, always cuts to the nub of politics.” (Adam Boulton)

From the first meeting of an elected English Parliament on 20 January 1265 to the tabling of the Bill of Rights on the 13 February 1689; from the Peterloo Massacre of the 16 August 1819 to Britain voting to leave the EU on the 23 June 2016,  acclaimed political broadcaster Iain Dale offers a fascinating analysis of the history of our constitutional settlement, our party system and how our Parliamentary democracy has developed.

He charts the development of British politics over the centuries and explores both the often fractious relationship between Parliament and the Crown and the constantly evolving relations between Westminster and the British electorate.

Iain Dale is the award-winning presenter of LBC Radio’s All Talk, a leading CNN political commentator and host of the smash-hit For the Many podcast with former Labour Home Secretary Jacqui Smith which recently got rave reviews at the Edinburgh Festival with its live show. Chaired by Gloucester’s MP Richard Graham.
