Event Details

From the broadcaster and bestselling author of The Templars, Dan Jones’s epic new history tells nothing less than the story of how the world we know today came to be built. It’s a thousand-year adventure that moves from the ruins of the once mighty city of Rome, sacked by Barbarians in AD410, to the first contact between the old and new worlds in the 16th century. In an enthralling talk he shows how from a state of crisis and collapse the West was rebuilt and came to dominate the entire globe through commerce, conquest and Christianity. He casts new light on iconic locations from Rome and Paris to Venice and Constantinople and features some of history’s most famous -and notorious – men and women.

This is a pre-recorded event which will be available from 9am on 25 September to 9pm on 31 January 2022.
